- Offer the necessary computer support in the Homes for the next school year to overcome the difficulties that children have had to face throughout these months of online school.
- Guarantee that minors under protection are on equal terms and opportunities as other students of their age.
The crisis of Covid-19, the closure of schools and distance classes, have made clear the digital gap that exists for certain groups, such as minors in protection who live in foster homes. Communication with their families or class work have shown the importance and need for electronic devices capable of responding to the new normality. In addition, it must be added that the ages of these minors range between 3 and 17 years, with different academic levels, different educational centers, and in most cases with curricular delay.
Currently, there is only one computer in each foster home, which makes it difficult for them to follow classes. Also the difficulty of supervising all these educational actions causes a disadvantage because they do not have the same opportunities as their classmates. Due to the current situation, it is necessary for the 2020-2021 school year to equip the Association Homes with two computers, making a total of 30 equipments. In this way, all minors and youth will be able to use them daily to carry out the tasks, works and school study depending on their academic year, facilitating an already complicated situation to acquire new knowledge and keep up with the good pace of the course.
Equip each Home with two computers so that minors and youth can carry out all the tasks and school study that they are requested depending on their academic year.
The direct beneficiaries of the Program are 210 minors a year, residing in 15 Nuevo Futuro Homes in Spain. These children and young people are in residential care in the field of protection, with a protective measure of guardianship. But, in addition, the number of beneficiaries over the 5 years that the equipment will be amortized is 1050 minors in Spanish territory. In addition, there are indirect beneficiaries, which will be the schools, educational teams and families of the recipients.
