Improve the quality of life of children with congenital heart disease and their families by offering professional support to face the situation of inequality and psychological and social risk involved in living with a serious chronic illness of a girl or a boy: an organic disability that affects the whole family structure.

The project addresses the emotional and psychological needs of children with congenital heart disease and their families through accompaniment, free emotional and psychological support outside and inside the hospitals (October 12, Gregorio Marañón and La Paz in Madrid), during the different processes through which they pass along the disease, especially in moments of diagnosis, interventions and / or transplants, the return home and to school. The necessary psychological attention is also given to mothers and fathers when a death occurs, through professionals specialized in psychology in grieving processes. Emotional and psychological attention can be both face-to-face and telephone and via email, and interventions can be individual, in pairs or in groups.

• Provide families with emotional and psychological management tools and strategies that helps them to take decisions, to take control of the situation and, therefore, to cope with the heart disease of a daughter or son in the most positive way possible .
• Accompany in the grieving process mothers and fathers who have lost a daughter or a son due to congenital heart disease avoiding degeneration in pathological duels.
